Some inspiration for you...

The Word Pictures team have been busy creating some gorgeous eye candy for you. Here's our take on February's challenge...

Sue Maree Wilks

Sami

We have some wonderful prizes again this month. Hope this inspires you to get your entries in. Because of my 'break', the deadline for entries has been extended until midnight, Saturday 7 March. Make sure to tell your friends!!

Sorry for the 'BREAK' in transmission....

I had a little accident. Have been hopping around on crutches with suspected broken ankle. Lucky for me it's only a very bad sprain!! Of course it's been a week where Daddy's been away, and after moving to a new state we have no support system as yet, so have been struggling to look after myself and my three littlies. DS thought it was great because he got to have a few days off school because I can't drive!!

Not much time for scrapping I'm afraid, haven't been able to hop downstairs to my playroom. I did manage to knit a scarf while I've been sitting around though.

Please accept my apologies for my little 'break'! We're back on track now. xSami

Challenge 4 – Rachael’s Challenge Tuesdays with a Twist
This year, Challenge Tuesdays will be perfect for those who can only spare half an hour or less a week to their scrapping. do you like sketches? do you like blind challenges? do you like to take your time working on a special layout so that its just perfect? Well this Challenge with Diva Rachael will suit you. There will be $10 Diva Dollars on offer for this challenge.

Challenge 5 – A Year in Review – Sketches
Welcome to a new year of challenges, its great to be back into the swing of things! I mentioned earlier in January that my goal this year is to complete a simple journal of photos, using scraps from my desk and a ring binder A5 folder that I have. My idea is to take the photos that don’t make it on a scrap page, photos that still tell a story or provoke a memory, and put them all together to record some highlights of our year. I’m inviting you all to take this little journey with me, create your own journal and enjoy a simplified process of scrapbooking at the same time. Each month, I will be showcasing a sample from my journal along with a matching sketch for you to use as inspiration. Take the sketch and interpret it however you please, enjoy the process of recording your memories, and use up some of your favourite scraps of pattern paper. I am working a month behind, so each month, my sketch will be for a page about the previous month.

Challenge 6 – Book of Me Album – Miss Mandy
This is a chance to scrap about yourself. Mandy will be creating layouts and ideas to get you going with scrapping about yourself for the next generation.

You will find them all here at

February's Challenge...

As we did in January, February will have a technique to add to your layout. This month's technique is decorative borders! This is a great added extra to any page, and there are so many ways to do this. Until we post the Inspirational Team layouts on the 15th, we will demonstrate some different techniques you can use to create a decorative border to add to your challenge layout.

Well...here it is...February's Scrapping Word Pictures challenge!

Material List
2 landscape photos 10x15cm
1 x cardstock or patterned paper 30x30 for base
Patterned paper/cardstock pieces:
Paper A – 28x28cm
Paper B – 7x12cm
Paper C – 10x16cm
Paper D – 30x11cm
Decorative border 30cm x 3cm – our technique of the month!!

Paper Placement
Place paper A in the centre of the base.
Paper B is then attached on the top left hand corner of Paper A.
Paper C should be attached to the bottom right of Paper A.
Place Paper D across the layout along slightly overlapping the bottom of Paper B. This is your photo mat.
Place your photos side by side on Paper D.
Your decorative border should be placed along the bottom of Paper D.
Your title should be placed in the top right hand corner of Paper A.
Add your journaling to the bottom left hand corner of Paper B.

Now it’s time to make it your own!!

Remember to e-mail your layouts in no later than the 28th of February to word.pictures@hotmail.com and please tell your friends!!!

If, at any time, you have any questions or suggestions, please send us an email. We'd love to hear from you.
