Leaves!!! She wants leaves!!!

Here's a sneaky peeky of Emma's gorgeous layout....see....leaves! Don't panic....it'llb e easier than you think!

There are many ways to incorporate leaves into you layout. Think stamping, paper piecing, stitching, chipboard, stickers and there's lots of patterned papers out there with leaves on them!

Pinch and a punch for the first day of the month.....and for our first challenge for a little while! We are also welcoming a special guest designer this month!

This month's WordPictures challenge is brought to you by someone most of you know and love....the very talented Emma Morris aka bookaruth! Emma is a regular on WordPictures and also over at Chook Scraps....make sure you pop over and say hello.

Without further ado, I bring you Emma's August Challenge.....

Requirements
1 landscape photo 10x15cm
Cardstock/Patterned Paper (CS/PP) for background
PPA - 30 x 15.5cm
PPB - 27 x 10cm
PPC - 20 x 15cm
PPD - 30 x 3cm strip

Instructions
1. Cut all PP's to size and ink the edges, if desired.
2. Place PPA approximately 1 inch from the right side of the background CS/PP.
3. Centre PPB in the middle of PPA and adhere.
4. Adhere your photo to the middle of PPC.
5. Place PPD 2cm from the bottom of background CS/PP.
6. Place PPC 1cm from the top edge of PPD and adhere.
7. Title to go at top of PP's A & B.

Now's the time to make it your own!!!

This month we're bringing back our special techniques! As an extra challenge this month....you need to add some leaves to your layouts! Don't panic....I'll give you some examples over the next week to help you out. So stay tuned!!!

We're back on track!!!

MAJOR apologies for being missing for soooooo long, but that naughty piggy hit us with a vengeance and we're still getting over it!

You've all been very patient and I thank you VERY much for that.

I'm currently making up sketches from past challenges for even more inspiration. These will be up soon.

Taking part in the pandemic

You may have noticed that Word Pictures has been put on hold this month. This is due to the fact that illness has hit my family with a vengeance over the last few weeks, topping it all off with the good ol' swine flu - and it's not pretty!

Please be patient with us....we'll be back, fit and healthy, with a new challenge on 1st July.

Cybercrop this weekend!

Enchanted Scrapbooking would like to invite you to their cybercrop this coming weekend, starting Friday May 15th and finishing Monday May 18th… They have three great challenges lined up, lots of friendly, fun, laughter and chatting in the forum, our infamous Bidding WAR and of course scrapping!!!!!! So gather your scrapping supplies and be ready for some fun and exciting times.

May's Word Picture Challenge...

Material List
1 x portrait photo 18x13cm (5x7”)
1 x cardstock or patterned paper 30x30 for base
Patterned paper/cardstock pieces:
Paper A –28x28 cm
Paper B – 30x8cm
Paper C – 30x10cm
Paper D – 21x16cm
Paper E – 13cm diameter circle

Paper Placement
Place Paper A in the centre of the base.
Paper B strip should be placed vertically 2cm from right hand side of Paper A.
Now add Paper C horizontally 1cm from the bottom of Paper A.
Attach Paper D vertically 2cm from right hand side of Paper B and 4cm from bottom of Paper C.
Next your circle, Paper E, should be placed overlapping the bottom left hand side of Paper D.
Your photo should be now be added, centred on Paper D.
Place your title along the bottom of your photo.
Journaling should be added to the top left of your photo.
Your circle is a great place to add embellishments!
