July's Word Picture Layouts

As written in a previous post there is a slight change to how we will post your layouts. We are going to be posting the layouts earlier now. However, we will always re-post the Word Picture Description at the top of post, that way if you don't want to see the samples don't scroll down. Hope you all have a good amount of will power??

July Word Picture
Material list
2 photos roughly 6 cm by 10 cm
1 piece of cardstock for the base
3 pieces of patterned paper;Paper A - 1 whole piece of shaped patterned paper or you can cut out you own shape from a whole piece of paper. It has to be slightly smaller than your cardstock base
Paper B - 1 piece that is roughly 15 x 15 cm square
Paper C – 2 squares that are roughly 7 x 7 cm
Alphas
Embellishments

Step One- Patterned Paper Shaping
Take Paper B and free cut a shape, keep it roughly the same size as your square. Your shape can be anything you wish, for example a star, a circle, a bird shape, a flower…. anything.Take the two Paper C squares and free cut two smaller shapes, you can either do the same shape as Paper B or a totally different shape.

Step Two - Patterned Paper Placement
Place your large shaped Paper A down on top of your cardstock. You can choose to centre it, of off set it to the top, bottom or one of the sides. The exact placement it up to you.
Paper B – Take your free cut shape and place it off centre and slightly to the bottom of Paper A.
Paper C – Place one free cut shape at the top and one at the bottom of Paper B – have them so that they slightly overlap the Paper B shape, you can choose to have them both on the right side or one on each side, it is up to you.Do not glue them down just yet.

Step Three – Photo Placement
Photo 1 - Place your photo on top of Paper B large shape, place it slightly to the bottom and to one side and slightly hanging off the Paper B shape. The Paper C small shape can be placed over the top of the photo edge so that you can see all of it.
Photo 2 – Place it roughly in the centre of Paper A, but towards Paper B shape, overlap a part of your Paper B shape over the top of your photo.

Step Four - Journaling
Beside Photo 2 on the side that does not have your Paper B and Paper C shapes do your journaling.

Step Five – Title Placement
Below Photo 2 but not on your Paper B or Paper C Place your title, you can run it out over Paper A and onto the cardstock if you wish or make it run in a column directly under the photo.

Step Six – Embellishments
First Positions - Place a small cluster of embellishments around the Paper C shapes
Second Position – Directly above Photo one on the spot where your Paper A and Cardstock lay put another cluster of embellishments.

Step Seven – Make it yours.
Put your own finishing touches onto your page.

July Word Picture Sample

The Word Picture this month was a little harder than previous months - that just allows you to put your own interpretation on to it. First we have Tracey's sample (pink), followed by Jodi's (blue).

And a Slight Change

We are going to be posting your layouts differently from this month on. Previously we have been waiting until the end of the month to display your pages, now we will start uploading the pages roughly two weeks after the Word Picture Description has gone up. So you will be able to see every one's work slightly earlier. You still have until the last day of the month to get your layouts in, to be in the running for the terrific prizes from our Sponsors.

Love Is In June Bonus Challenge

We were asked by Love Is In Details to create a special Word Picture for their Crop in Minitoba, Canada. Well this is what we came up with;
Material list
1 x cardstock of thick patterned paper for base
2 x coordinating pieces of patterned paper
Alphas (can be chipboard, stamps, Rubons or whatever your favourite alpha is)
Embellishments (the sky is the limit – it is up to you)
2 x flourishes
2 x photos

Step One – Patterned Paper
From you patterned paper you will need the following sized pieces
Paper A – 1 x rectangle roughly 22 cm x 16 cm
1 x small strip roughly 2 cm x 8 cm
Paper B - 1 x large strip roughly 25 cm x 4 cm
1 x small strip roughly 1 cm x 5 cm
Ink, distress, tear, paint, scallop, or stitch to decorate and put your own mark on it.

Step Two – Paper Placement
Paper A - Place the large rectangle roughly 6 cm up from the bottom edge of your cardstock and roughly in the middle of the page. Then place the small strip of Paper A roughly one cm in from the top of the page and 1 cm from the edge of the side of the edge of the page – you choose which top side you want to place the strip on.
Paper B - Place the large Patterned paper B strip overlapping the bottom of the Paper A large rectangle, make sure that the edge of Paper A can be seen. Place the small strip of Paper B overlapping the small strip of Paper A, placement of the Paper B strip is up to you.

Step Three – Photo Placement
Overlapping the large Paper B strip and on Paper A place your photos towards the centre of the page. Slightly angle them, have one slightly higher than the other.

Step Four – Title Placement
Over the top of the lower photo put your title.

Step Five – Journaling Placement
Under the higher placed photo do your journaling.

Step Six – Flourish Placement
The first flourish is to be placed in the corner where the large Paper A rectangle and the large Paper B strip meet, on the opposite side to your journaling. The second flourish is to be place on the small Paper A strip.

Step Seven – Embellishments
There are four rough areas to place some embellishments, they are;
Where you have place the first flourish
In the corner of the cardstock, overlapping both Paper A and Paper B strips
At the top of the photo that has the journaling under it, place it on the corner of the photo that is closest to the cardstock edge
On the opposite side of the first flourish on the large Paper B strip

Step Eight – Decorate
Now make this layout yours and decorate and finish it off however you like.

And this is what the girls from Love Is In Details did with the description. There are some fantastic pages here that we could not just let it go without a prize, so Enchanted Scrapbooking has put together one of their funky Fun Fairy Packs for one of these lucky ladies.
